65 – Irvine – Complete Kitchen Remodel with brand new custom cabinets

The owners of this Irvine home were actually previous customers of ours. They had previously employed APlus to perform a cabinet refacing job in their kitchen, which turned out beautifully. However, after several years, they decided that they wanted to try a completely new look, and trusted that we could deliver excellent results yet again. To get started, we cleared out the kitchen of all of its structures, tearing it down to its foundation to build everything new. A relaxed, transitional design was requested, in a cool and spring-like color palette of muted robin’s egg blue, white, and gray. We first installed dark gray-toned hardwood floors, and kept the wide U-shaped layout when we built the bright white custom cabinets. They have subtly recessed panels and thick crown moulding, as well as stainless steel knobs and handles. Some of the doors on the upper cabinets were set with glass, adding airiness by breaking up the visual bulk of the new construction. On their undersides, track lighting installation provides illumination for the countertops. Customizations include fold-out corner doors, lazy suzans, spice-pulls, pull-out tray shelving, all additions that improve the efficiency of the kitchen and make it easier for the owners to handle the daily tasks of cooking and storage.
Solid gray slab countertops with a glossy enamel were put on the surfaces. The center island has a countertop that is extended outward to provide legroom for informal seating, to be used when the family members want to sit down for a casual bite, or keep the cook company. On the walls, we put in the defining feature of the kitchen: a backsplash of shining rectangular tiles in a subdued tone of minty blue. Our final step was the placement of classic window shutters over the farmhouse sink, which match the style of the new sliding door to the backyard.
