A transitional kitchen project in laguna niguel, orange county

Built-in, custom design elements are a standout aspect of the interior design of this kitchen, which reflects a project undertaken by APlus in Laguna Niguel, Orange County. Against the back wall of the kitchen are expansive glass windows, where there is a built-in banquette seating area. Next to the banquette is a built-in storage hutch, with a combination of hidden shelving as well as cabinets with glass inserts for display.

The previous kitchen design was small and u-shaped, with a peninsula bar that created separation and a disconnected floorplan. That was removed, and the entire space was opened up, maximizing seating, entertaining space, and general functionality. Now, this professional chef’s quality kitchen includes a stainless steel range and oven that are located in a corner, making the most of the available square footage. A glass tile backsplash in a creamy beige color wraps around the primary kitchen wall and creates a clean, soothing color palette in combination with the Swiss Coffee finish of the custom designer cabinets, constructed of high-quality maple.

The cabinetry of the island is dark and contrasts the rest of the white cabinets. Also contrasting the luxury cabinets is the black soapstone countertops on the perimeter, while a thick white natural stone slab is part of the island.
