43 – Tustin – Kitchen & Laundry Room Remodel

Over in Tustin, a homeowner was looking for a way to make their home’s kitchen not only more stylish, but also more efficient and practical for their daily needs. Luckily, they had APlus on their side, ensuring that they could get a beautiful, professional renovation tailored to their preferences and lifestyle. We worked with them to develop the design of this new traditional kitchen, which features a blend of rustic and upscale style elements. Our first step was to install multi-toned hardwood flooring, which acts as a warm base for the rest of the space. Next, we built custom cabinets according to a wide C-shaped layout. To achieve the low-key sophistication desired by the owner, the cabinets were given traditional styling and a walnut brown finish. They were affixed with black handles that blend rather than contrast with the wood. One end of the kitchen was made into a casual bar with seating, as was the center island which has ornamental posts.
We used white and gray granite for the countertops. The stone’s semi-glossy finish reflects the illumination provided by the lights that were installed on the undersides of the upper cabinets. The kitchen’s wall was given a full-height backsplash made up of roughly textured white stone tiles. Off to the side of the kitchen, we built another section of custom cabinetry for general storage and laundry machines. The lower part of this full-height cabinet construction is wide enough to conceal both a washer and dryer in individual cabinets, and provides a worktop space.
