A comprehensive home remodeling project, this Orange County home in Yorba Linda was initially somewhat bland and lacking in originality or character before the newly implemented interior design. In the living area, a custom wood mantel and tile surround were added to the fireplace, as well as stylish, rustic wood plank floors.
The original layout of the kitchen included bulky cabinets that took up a lot of exterior space and limited the amount of countertop and food preparation space available to the homeowners. To remedy this, an expansive central island was added, topped by a sleek, white stone countertop. Located at the base of the island are cabinets, drawers and ample storage space on one side, and seating along the other.
The perimeter of the kitchen includes a mix of Shaker-style custom cabinets and some cabinets with inset glass panels. The hand-scraped wood plank flooring from the living area continues into the kitchen, while behind the professional range and stainless steel vent hood is a detailed glass tile mosaic backsplash. The design built in this Yorba Linda home also include the implementation of a seamless outdoor area with glass bifold doors.
In the family room, APlus created a built-in shelving and entertainment center, with a combination of open and concealed shelving, as well as a TV niche. The downstairs bathroom now includes a streamlined design with a glass-enclosed stand-up shower and a stylish, compact vanity.
