Design build home kitchen bathroom fireplace remodel in mission viejo by aplus interior design

Kathy, a longtime resident of Mission Viejo, first worked with Alex on a previous home remodel in 2000. She decided to work with Alex and APlus again in her new home, a stunning waterfront property in Mission Viejo.

Along with a full kitchen renovation that included opening up the cramped space to the living area and the rest of the home, as well as custom espresso cabinetry, raising the kitchen ceiling, the designing and manufacturing of a large island and the installation of high-end stainless steel appliances, this Mission Viejo remodel also included the rest of the house. The result was a home with a sense of cohesion and beautiful flow throughout.

Much of the work completed by APlus was about opening the house up, making it feel more airy and spacious. The fireplace was designed to become a focal point in the living room, which also affords stunning water views. The fireplace features a stacked stone surround that feels similar in color and style to the kitchen flooring, tying the spaces together. It also includes custom espresso molding that surrounds not only the fireplace but also the TV space, designed to be similar to the kitchen cabinetry.

The master bathroom and closet were reconfigured to include a large walk-in and more functional toilet, shower and sink spaces.

Downstairs Alex and the APlus team raised the ceiling in the bathroom and designed a stunning glass walk-in shower in place of what was previously an outdated tub. The downstairs design also includes a large office and TV area with custom manufactured cabinetry to provide an abundance of storage and to tie the downstairs design in with the concept seen upstairs.
