Client tour of her functional kitchen by aplus orange county kitchen remodeling

An older home in Mission Viejo got a much needed makeover at the hands of our construction and design crew. The house was plastered with unsightly 70’s wallpaper, and the cabinets were built from golden oak, in a style that had been outdated decades past. The homeowners wished for a fresh and traditional look to replace this, and that’s exactly what we gave them. First, we removed the wallpaper and painted the walls in a warm gray hue. That was followed up by the addition of white crown molding on the recessed portion of the ceiling, and half-height paneling on the walls just outside the kitchen, ensuring that the rest of the home matches in style. We built custom cabinets in the original G-shape, going with classic styling in a creamy white finish for brightness.
Atop the lower cabinets, we installed sandy granite countertops with rounded edges. The counter’s golden brown tones and natural striations give it a woody look, which pairs well with the rustic nature of the original hardwood floors, and the shabby chic red brick backsplash we put on the wall space between the upper and lower cabinets. Other features of the kitchen include an undermounted double bowl sink, and a custom built casing for the wall hood over the stovetop.
