Complete home design-build in mission viejo
Kathy is a long-time Mission Viejo resident, and she has also worked with Alex and APlus in the past. When she was able to purchase and move to her new home, she again contracted Alex for the redesign which included a full kitchen remodel, as well as the master bathroom, two other additional bathrooms, the conversion of a bedroom into a home office, a new fireplace, and a new laundry room.
In the previous design, the kitchen felt cramped, so APlus removed the wall that separated the kitchen and living area, giving Kathy an open-concept layout. It was then transformed into a functional U-shape design.
Some of the kitchen design elements include crown molding, sophisticated custom cabinets, and built-in features to house the high-end stainless steel appliances. There are gray granite countertops in the kitchen as well. A similar traditional aesthetic was carried into the rest of the home.
“Our client Kathy decided to remodel her whole house which consist of a full kitchen remodel, a master bathroom, along with two other bathrooms as well as brand new wood flooring, new fireplace mantle, converting one of the bedrooms into full functioning office and laundry room. She’s very happy with how everything came out and you can see in this video how she feels about the quality of APlus cabinets & services. Kathy has been a long-term client of Alex after having worked with him on another kitchen remodel in her previous home in 2000. She has since moved to a new waterfront Mission Viejo home, and after interviewing three other designers, Kathy again decided Alex was the right person for not just her kitchen remodel, but the renovation of her entire home.
The kitchen project included overhauling the layout because the old kitchen felt cramped and lacking in space. APlus created a design that included the removal of a wall separating the kitchen from the living space, creating an open-concept floorplan. The kitchen was transformed into a spacious U-Shaped design, tailored to meet Kathy’s cooking and dining specifications.
The kitchen boasts a sophisticated transitional style with dark espresso cabinetry that provides a distinctive juxtaposition to the light rustic-inspired plank flooring of the kitchen. There was a tremendous focus on details including the crown molding, custom cabinetry and the inclusion of ample storage space. There were built-in spaces designed to accommodate the stainless steel appliances, and the central island includes not only in-kitchen seating space but also even more storage. An ornate chandelier hangs over the island, and the kitchen also includes space for a large dining table in addition to the island seating. Pale gray granite countertops complete this Mission Viejo kitchen and are extended along the wall to become the backsplash as well.
