Design build dark espresso transitional kitchen in dana point orange county

With our design in this Dana Point kitchen, we opted for a concept that is dramatic as well as streamlined and modern, yet there are still small bits of traditional elements that maintain an overall transitional style.

The custom cabinetry is a rich espresso color, but the style of the cabinets is Shaker, infusing a sense of timelessness. The single recessed panel of the Shaker cabinetry keeps the look minimalist and modern, but it’s also a style that’s enduring and one that will maintain its value over time.

The thick-cut countertops and wide edge profile continue the feeling of dramatic, modern luxury in this kitchen design, as does the stunning island. While the primary countertops feature white stone, the island is topped with black stone and continues the espresso colored cabinetry found elsewhere in this Dana Point kitchen. The island is unique not only because of the materials used in its design and construction but also because of the angular, asymmetric and geometric shape. A gray and white mosaic backsplash extends to the ceiling behind the range, while an oversized stainless steel apron sink is an eye-catching feature as well.

Adjacent to the primary kitchen area is a butler’s pantry that continues the espresso cabinetry and white countertops, and also includes a state-of-the-art wine refrigerator and a combination of hidden storage and floating shelving.
