58 – Laguna Hills – Four bathrooms complete Remodel with custom cabinets & countertops
An expansive home in Laguna Hills was certainly beautiful, but its bathrooms didn’t match up with its style. APlus was asked to handle the renovation, due to our outstanding reputation as one of the best local contractors. The homeowners wanted each bathroom to have a unique look and atmosphere, but for all to still feel as though they complemented the traditional fashion of the home. Our expert design team could certainly deliver, and helped the owners plan the vision for each of the 4 bathrooms. The first bathroom was small, meaning that it only needed subtle work to refine its style. Our work here included the building of a custom vanity out of rich red-toned wood, with a sand-hued marble countertop with round edges and an undermount sink. Beige stone floor tiles were put in, and extended into the walk-in shower, which has a diamond mosaic focal point on its wall. For the second bathroom, we went with a palette of deep brown and grays. The custom vanity extends along most of the left wall, and features a charcoal gray granite countertop that extends upward to meet the bottom edge of the mirror. Marbled gray tiles were installed on the floor, and the wall of the shower/tub combination was given a light gray tile backsplash with a decorative mosaic band.
In the third bathroom, the clients wished for a warmer color scheme. This lead to the construction of a large vanity in a radiant chestnut finish, with a middle countertop cabinet separating the his and hers undermount sinks on either side. Above the toilet, an upper cabinet was also built to provide extra storage. The shower/tub combination was walled with camel-colored stone tiles, large pieces on the bottom half beneath the ornamental band of square bronze tiles, and smaller pieces above. The magnum opus of the home is the fourth bathroom, where luxury and sophistication are in abundance. The walls all have stately recessed paneling, and the floors are of pale stone tile. We built the dark and sumptuous custom vanity in a shape that curves with the corner of the room, providing a bold frame for the airy space. A multitude of drawers and cabinets were incorporated, and two countertop cabinets are placed to alternate with the his and hers sinks. The dark gray marble countertops offer plenty of space for toiletries and cosmetics. Above the corner bathtub and in the shower, tile backsplashes feature differing sizes and patterns.
