31 – Laguna Beach – Kitchen Remodel

We gave this Laguna Beach kitchen a whole new look influenced by both traditional and industrial styles. Its earthy color palette consists of various tones of browns and grays, all of which combine to create a masculine aesthetic. First, we installed rustic hardwood flooring throughout the space to match the wood-planked ceiling. Then, our team covered the walls with a full-height tile backsplash made up of small horizontal tiles with gray striations. This stony theme was continued in the marbled stone countertops, with different shades for the main counters and the island. The apron front sink also has a stone exterior, adding even more gritty texture to the space.
Custom cabinets were built, the upper ones with glass insets. Two finishes were used for different sections, lending a funky duo-chromatic look to the kitchen. We also built custom luxury cabinets to house the refrigerator and other items. This construction was designed as a statement piece, with bold features such as wrought metal pull-handles, angular moulding, and raised ornamental accents. To add industrial flair to the room, the visible appliances were replaced with stainless steel pieces. Overall, the transformation of this L-shaped open kitchen was dramatic.
