The original kitchen in this Rowland Heights home lacked a modern and cohesive design style. The owners not only wanted to update and modernize their kitchen, but they also wanted to improve its functionality through the addition of creative storage solutions and better workspaces. This is a family kitchen, and the owners felt like it could more adequately reflect their daily needs.
The APlus team approached this large kitchen remodeling project first with a full-scale demo. The design concept includes espresso Shaker cabinetry and detailed moldings. Along with the stunning custom cabinetry and its sleek, contemporary profile, the kitchen was given a high-end appearance thanks to the inclusion of top-of-the-line hardware like the stainless steel Sutton handles and knobs. There is an abundance of customized storage options located within the cabinetry including a pull-out trash drawer, spice storage pull-outs, lazy susans and vertical tray dividers. Not only do these additions provide ideal storage, but they also help the homeowners remain more organized daily.
The dark, dramatic color of the cabinetry is balanced with the countertop surface, which is Cambria Praa Sands and it features a creamy base color along with a single bevel edge. In addition to the visual interest created by the marbling of the countertop, texture is also introduced into the kitchen with the glass tile backsplash in contrasting light and dark colors.
The large central island includes bar seating as well as a high-end sink and gooseneck faucet, and the top-quality professional-quality appliances are sourced almost entirely from Thermador, and include a Thermador Professional Series Steam and Convection Oven built into the cabinetry and a Pro Harmony Series All-Gas Range beneath a wall hood.
