The framework of this Irvine kitchen was unique and almost like a solarium, so during the APlus design-build of this kitchen, the goal was to keep some of the structural originality, while updating it and making it a luxurious, functional and modern kitchen. Basic builder-grade cabinetry was taken out, as was the restrictive dropped ceiling, which made the space feel cramped.
The ceiling was raised, and recessed lighting was added, while the tile was removed to make way for wood plank floors. The cabinetry was replaced with custom white cabinetry and creative storage space, as well as features like pull out drawers. The color palette is clean and simple, but light sea green glass tiles in the backsplash add a hint of color.
Also part of this Irvine remodel was the living room, and the powder room was transformed into a sophisticated space with an espresso vanity that replicates the style and color of the island in the kitchen. All of the primary living areas in this Orange County home tie together well and flow cohesively.
