Drama, contrast, natural light and luxury additions now define this Irvine kitchen. Before undergoing a full demolition and redesign, | the kitchen in this Orange County home was stark, and lacking in character or charm. The previous design included basic, nondescript white cabinets and monochromic countertops and appliances all against a bland beige wall color.
Now, there is contrast, visual interest and custom design details throughout. After taking out everything, including the ceiling to add recessed lighting, the result is now one that feels carefully thought out and crafted.
The cabinets are white, with simple detailing, while the granite countertops are rich and decadent with warm earth tones running throughout. The contrasting island is a dark espresso color, and was also custom-designed and created by APlus. The double-basin stainless steel sink is set in the large island, and a Tuscan-inspired floor and backsplash continue the feeling of sophisticated warmth present in this Irvine kitchen. A mosaic backsplash detail is highlighted above the professional gas range, and below the hand-crafted wood range hood.
Also part of this Irvin home remodeling project was the inclusion of custom storage leading to the laundry room, and a full revamp of the once dark and cramped laundry room. The space is now functional, with cabinetry and a design aesthetic that coordinates with the kitchen. The flooring of the kitchen was carried into the living area, and the powder room now includes a new vanity and spacious walk-in shower. All the windows were also replaced and upgraded during this Irvine interior design and general construction project.
